Warranty Policy

Last updated: March 2026

At HKD Elevators, we stand behind the quality of every home lift we deliver. This warranty policy outlines the coverage provided with your residential lift purchase, including the complete system, critical safety components, and installation workmanship.

1. Warranty Coverage

Whole-of-Lift System — 1 Year. From the date of commissioning, all mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic components of your lift are covered for a period of one (1) year. This includes the controller, cabin structure, wiring, buttons, display panels, and all other standard components.

Safety Components — 3 Years. The following six critical safety components are covered for an extended period of three (3) years from the date of commissioning: safety gear, speed governor, buffer, traction machine, door operator, and light curtain. These components form the core safety system of your lift and are essential to the protection of passengers.

Installation Workmanship — 1 Year. All on-site installation work carried out by our licensed team is warranted for one (1) year from the date of commissioning. This covers electrical wiring, shaft alignment, rail installation, door fitment, and all other installation-related workmanship.

2. Warranty Commencement

All warranty periods commence from the date of completed commissioning as recorded in the HKD Elevators handover certificate signed by both the client and our installation team.

3. Conditions of Warranty

To maintain warranty validity, the lift must be serviced in accordance with HKD Elevators’ recommended maintenance schedule. We offer flexible maintenance plans — please contact our team for details. The warranty applies exclusively to genuine HKD-supplied components installed by our authorised personnel.

4. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover: damage caused by misuse, negligence, accident, or unauthorised modification; cosmetic wear resulting from normal daily use, including minor surface scratches and marks; damage caused by external factors such as power surges, water ingress, or building structural movement; consumable items including cabin lighting and floor coverings; any repair or modification work carried out by parties other than HKD Elevators or our authorised service agents.

5. Making a Warranty Claim

To make a claim, contact our service team at 03-9590-6888 or [email protected]. Please have your commissioning certificate and lift serial number available. Our team will assess the issue and arrange a service visit, typically within 48 hours for non-emergency matters. Emergency calls are responded to on a 24/7 basis.

6. Extended Warranty

Extended warranty options may be available for purchase at the time of installation. Please speak with your HKD project consultant for pricing and coverage details.

7. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. This warranty is in addition to, and does not exclude or limit, any rights and remedies available to you under the Australian Consumer Law.
